787 WINDSOR

As one of the Founders and Creative Director of this warehouse space in south Atlanta, I transformed this 3-acre abandoned warehouse into a curated graffiti hub of energy for arts and cultural experiences. From producing and booking events, to managing talent and VIPs, to designing graphics and pitching to sponsors, my role extended to many areas. 787 Windsor is now home to Afropunk Atlanta, Red Bull’s Culture Clash, along with many other festivals and events year-round.

TRAP HEALS X AFROPUNK

Commissioned by Trap Heals to produce a photo moment and interactive installation for brand activation at Afropunk Atlanta, I produced a lush garden with a hydraulics car right in the middle. It was my role to produce this idea from conception to completion with our budget. The space had board games and benches for people to relax, have fun, and enjoy a memorable photo moment at Afropunk. This concept later went on to be commissioned as a part of the show “Good Trouble”.

BONNE SUITS

Commissioned by Bonne Suits to produce influencer-driven content. I produced an influencer dinner in Atlanta where each artist was gifted the suits and wore them to the dinner- “Bonne Dinner.” This intimate evening was self-produced including sourcing the artists, the location, the photographer and video team, and the title and concept of the story.

We captured the content on film, Polaroids, and video, and took over Bonne Suits instagram page to premiere the fresh content. We featured artists and influencers such as St. Beauty, Curtis Williams, Mattiel Brown, Faye Webster, Yung Baby Tate, and more.

RED BULL X CULTURE LABS

Working again with Culture Labs to produce 3 of the 11 influencer-driven events for Red Bull Music Festival in Atlanta. I was commissioned to be the internal and external contact for each curator - helping bring each curator’s vision to life and manage client expectations.

My main role was to execute the idea from concept to completion - overseeing our budget and the concept to ensure completion, as well as sourcing props, items, staff, and talent, and connecting with professionals in the prospective industries within budget for the 3 different events. Each event was drastically different - a graffiti skate park, a fashion show, and an intimate, rode-themed dinner for emerging women in music.

TRAP HEALS X PROXIMITY

Trap Heals is a collective of artists and strategists at the junction of community engagement, artistic activism, and cultural leadership, who hand-deliver initiatives and activations dedicated to philanthropic equity.

With efforts centered in (re)shaping social ideas that honor and heal the tribes we come from; through live installations, brand development, and creative strategy, Trap Heals build alliances with brands, non-profits, and movements who honor the same codes.

Previously working with the collective for an Afropunk Atlanta activation (2018), I was commissioned by Trap Heals, in collaboration with Represent Justice, a nationwide criminal justice reform coalition, to curate and produce a one-week activation that engaged the community and highlighted the issues of prison reform surrounding the Just Mercy film featuring Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx.

We conceptualized a pop-up Greenhouse and garden in the middle of South Los Angeles - the cultural epicenter of Black Los Angeles - intended to be a space of healing in an urban environment where art, music, culture and sustainability converge.

The week featured performers, conversations with activists such as Patrisse Cullors - co-founder of Black Lives Matter, guest appearances from Chris Martin of Coldplay.

One of the conceptualized art installations in the greenhouse was an interactive phone booth where you can pick up the phone and hear the stories of wrongly convicted and incarcerated peoples - powered by The Innocence Project.

FRIENDS100

A monthly pop-up event series for 100+ cultural influencers, musicians, artists, + change-makers of Atlanta.

I curate every myself from concept to completion, highlighting Atlanta’s DJs and unique experiences from listening parties where we only play the featured artist, to exclusive screenings.

Our October 2018 edition featured an exclusive screening of M.I.A.’s documentary, all-female DJs, and a pop-up shop from a Pakistani, ATL-based female streetwear designer. Our July event was a sold-out Frank Ocean listening party where we played every Frank Ocean song known to man.

Each event offers something different, but they are all created with the intention of highlighting and honoring Atlanta artists. In one year, I’ve produced 11 events, and built our mailing list to 5,000 Atlanta creatives.

BLACK FUTURES MONTH X BLACK LIVES MATTER GLOBAL NETWORK

Before the chaos and unrest of the following year came upon us, Black Lives Matter Global Network produced a global pop-up in three cities (Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Toronto) for Black Futures Month February 2018.

I was commissioned as a producer to curate the Atlanta pop-up activation, which required a high attention to detail and organization. This included managing pre-production and planning, designing graphics, managing RSVPs, booking the venue, as well as booking DJs and participating artists.

The event was a great success with over 350 RSVPs, and 200+ attendees. Taking place at Elevator Factory - a co-working space in Atlanta made of shipping crates - the event featured an all-women’s panel discussion (w/ St. Beauty band - signed to Janelle Monae’s record label), highlighted female, non-binary, and queer POC DJs.

As well as featuring fashion photographer Christian Cody, and a dance performance artist, the event was alcohol-free, and we served refreshing kombucha all night long.

The multi-city experience was livestreamed via the entire BLM networ and channels.

INSTALLATIONS

With a passion for experimental art and pop-up street art installations, I spent a time adding color to the streets and events alike through different artistic media and disciplines.

My experience as an artist allows me to better communicate with other artists, and think outside of the box when coordinating and managing projects for organizations, performance and visual artists, contractors, and vendors.
